ARTIST'S STATEMENT

My art explores the places where passion and promise meet. Combining finessed realism with sweeping abstraction, I seek to capture the exalted dance that happens when human vision shapes the future.

I push the limits and innovate, on the canvas and in my life, because I believe human beings are born to create.

The permanence of oil paint anchors my work. Every step is thoughtful, from the selection of the canvas to the final brushstroke. The end result is work that stirs the innate human drive to build something extraordinary.

At its core, each painting is an homage to this truth: Every human being holds untold greatness inside of them.

The first time Emy Papasideris went to art school, she was in the womb. Her mother’s experience studying fine art in New York City encouraged Emy’s creativity from the very beginning, and Emy has been pursuing art in one form or another as long as she’s had memory of herself.

The second time Emy went to art school was three decades years later, at the Milan Art Institute. This was after spending many years in her parents’ home country of Greece and subsequently returning to her beloved New York. She is in constant pursuit of deepening the themes of human possibility, passion and universal connection in her artwork. She strives to saturate every piece she creates with the energies that promote our opportunity, such as hope, courage, will and love. Her international collectors describe her work as deeply moving and inspiring.

Emy’s studio is a stone’s throw from the Hudson River, bustling with life and color and creativity. Her work is deeply driven by her spiritual journey and the pursuit of human purpose, and when she is not in the studio she is passionate about assisting others on their unique journeys of spiritual innovation. In the future, Emy plans to expand her artwork into other products that can bring the spark of inspiration beyond the four walls.
